This should give you the total amount of RAM in your computer, and below is the minimum I would reccomend.

Windows XP – 1 Gigabyte

Vista – 2 Gigabytes

Windows 7 – 2 Gigabytes (for 32 bit OS)  3 Gigabytes (for 64 bit OS)
